Hello colleagues.
At a time when travelers are more focused than ever on safety, cleanliness, and the overall airport experience, Tampa International Airport is earning national recognition for setting the standard.
Tampa International Airport has been named a top honoree in the international Spotless Spaces competition, receiving the Tork Think Ahead Facility Excellence Award from ISSA—the worldwide association for the cleaning and facility solutions industry. The award recognizes facilities that demonstrate best-in-class performance in hygiene, sustainability, and public safety.
Selected from hundreds of entries across the U.S. and globally, Tampa International stood out for its commitment to maintaining exceptionally clean, healthy environments for both travelers and airport staff. Winners were determined through a rigorous evaluation process, along with voting from industry professionals and the public.
For a region that continues to see strong tourism growth and record passenger traffic, this recognition underscores Tampa International’s role not just as a gateway—but as a leader in redefining what safe, well-maintained public infrastructure looks like in a post-pandemic world.
This is more than an aviation story—it’s about public health, workforce safety, and the evolving expectations of millions of travelers passing through Tampa Bay each year.
I’d be happy to connect you with ISSA leadership or airport representatives to discuss what’s driving this recognition and how Tampa International is setting a model for airports nationwide.
Best regards,
Guillermo Meneses
