Tampa Bay Tech Week Announces Inaugural Event, April 8–10, 2026, Positioning Region as a Nationally Competitive Tech Hub
Tampa Bay’s innovation ecosystem is entering a defining moment.
The first annual Tampa Bay Tech Week has officially been announced and will take place April 8–10, 2026, across Tampa, St. Petersburg, and the greater Tampa Bay region. The decentralized, community-powered initiative is designed to activate the region’s rapidly growing technology sector and position Tampa Bay as a nationally competitive tech hub.
Unlike traditional conferences, Tampa Bay Tech Week is not a single-host event or a closed-door industry gathering. It is a regional movement and multi-industry showcase built by and for the community. During the three-day event in April 2026, founders, investors, corporate leaders, technologists, universities, and economic development organizations will host events across the region under one unified banner.
“This is about infrastructure, not just an event,” said Michael Hall, Founding Board Member & Board Director. “Tampa Bay Tech Week creates a platform that elevates the builders already here while attracting new investment, talent, and opportunity into our region.”
Tampa Bay has experienced significant growth in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, climate tech, health innovation, and venture-backed startups. Yet the region’s greatest competitive advantage is its culture of collaboration.
Tampa Bay Tech Week formalizes that collaboration by concentrating ecosystem energy into one highly visible week designed to drive long-term economic impact.
The initiative is designed to:
-Strengthen Tampa Bay’s reputation as a serious and scalable tech ecosystem Retain and attract high-growth founders and technical talent
-Increase visibility for startups and scaling companies
-Create meaningful engagement opportunities for sponsors and partners
-Serve as a magnet for investors exploring Florida markets
Rather than centralizing attention on one stage, the decentralized model empowers multiple industries and organizations to showcase their work throughout the week. The result is a dense, region-wide activation that reflects the depth and diversity of innovation happening across Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay Tech Week is structured as an open platform. Local companies, coworking spaces, accelerators, venture groups, universities, and community leaders are invited to host their own events as part of the official Tech Week calendar.
