United Way Suncoast kicked off its annual “Week of Caring” on Monday, October 5th with a newly refreshed brand. United Way Suncoast and their creative agency Chappel Roberts worked together to create something unexpected that exemplifies how United Way Suncoast unifies their communities and multiplies outcomes today, tomorrow and for generations to come.

“For decades United Way Suncoast has worked to dismantle the barriers to prosperity. Our newly refreshed brand reflects this bold and uplifting work with positive imagery and bold colors that focus on the outcomes that are possible when we all unite together to “do more good”. “United We Rise, United We Win” is our message to the community of hope and help for today and the future, as we continue to inspire change and multiply outcomes for generations to come, says James Gillen, Senior Vice President of Communication & Marketing at United Way Suncoast.

Along with the bold brand refresh, United Way Suncoast has released a new video message to the community focused on unity and the freedom to rise.

United Way Suncoast has been serving the Tampa Bay area for nearly 100 years by addressing access to quality education, removing barriers to financial stability and providing help in a crisis.

“We work tirelessly to eliminate the constraints that prevent families from thriving. We dismantle the barriers to human prosperity, uniting our community along the way. As we provide pathways to early learning, financial stability and youth success, we create opportunities today that help transform the lives of individuals and families tomorrow”, said Jessica Muroff, CEO of United Way Suncoast.

“How do we do this? We provide choices. We provide opportunities. We create space for families to grow without limitations, elevating communities by building a future with equity for all. Our message to our community should reflect this important work”, continued Muroff.

With decades of local knowledge and expertise guiding the way, United Way Suncoast has a unique perspective of the challenges our community faces. This experience, fueled by community support, enables then to effectively problem solve and address the community’s needs in times of crises. Nothing illustrates that more than their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the COVID-19 pandemic spread across Florida, causing economic uncertainty for hundreds of thousands across the region, hardworking households lost their jobs and the means to pay for food, housing and other basic needs, United Way Suncoast responded in a big way. Using their strength of pulling together individuals, organizations and nonprofits, United Way Suncoast raised over $1.8M within a matter of weeks to meet the needs in the community. Funds were used to address immediate needs like shelter, food, and utilities assistance with 100% of that money being distributed back to the community.

“Through our partnerships and expertise, we will continue to create bold solutions to our biggest challenges – uplifting lives and achieving equity for generations to come. United Way Suncoast’s new brand messaging is intended to communicate our commitment to focusing on building communities where everyone has access to resources they need to truly thrive. A community on the rise is a community that values unity and equity”, said Jessica Muroff, CEO of United Way Suncoast.
