BayCare pauses surgeries, procedures for Florida Blue patients
September 23, 2022 - BayCare announced it will pause all new elective surgeries and procedures at its hospitals for Florida Blue health insurance patients due to contract negotiations. The measure began Thursday and follows the healthcare provider notifying patients that they could become out-of-network if talks stall. The current agreement between the two entities ends Sept. 30. If a new contract is not signed before that date, Florida Blue’s network will no longer include BayCare’s hospitals, laboratories or medical group physicians. Emergency care, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care and outpatient imaging centers would not be affected by contract termination.
