BayCare shuts down Carillon COVID test site while it looks for another location
June 23, 2020 - BayCare Health System is looking for another Pinellas County location for COVID-19 drive-thru testing, after closing the site it was using in Carillon. The health system said it is in discussions for several possible Pinellas locations and expects to announce a new site by the end of the week. The Carillon site was in the parking lot of a building that includes a BayCare Urgent Care Center and several other medical offices. In the past week, demand for testing at the location more than tripled, leading to disruptions for neighboring businesses, a news release said. There are other testing options listed on Pinellas County's COVID-19 website. BayCare drive-thru test sites in Polk and Pasco counties will continue to operate on their regular schedule. In Hillsborough County, BayCare helps run the drive-thru testing site at Raymond James Stadium.
