‘Best Hospital’ designation comes with an asterisk for St. Pete facility
June 18, 2019 - Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg ranks No. 44 in two specialty areas — cancer and pulmonology — on the new U.S. News & World Report 2019-2020 Best Children’s Hospitals list. Johns Hopkins All Children’s was the only children’s hospital on Florida’s West Coast to make the list, it said in a news release. The designation comes with an asterisk. U.S. News cited reporting by the Tampa Bay Times and confirmed by hospital leadership that Johns Hopkins All Children’s has suspended all pediatric heart surgeries until “all involved are confident that the care being delivered meets the high standards set by this organization."
