Brady shutout for first time since 2006, Godwin out for season

December 20, 2021 - The New Orleans Saints 9-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday night marked just the third time Tom Brady has been held scoreless in his career - and the first time since 2006. Brady, 44, was just 29 years old the last time he failed to lead his team to any points, and no current NFL defenders were in the league at the time. In addition to a shutout loss at home that prevented the Bucs from clinching the NFC South, the defending Super Bowl champions lost offensive stars Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Leonard Fournette to injury. Coach Bruce Arians recently told reporters Godwin suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
