Castor to get paid in bitcoin
November 5, 2021 - Tampa Mayor Jane Castor announced she will begin accepting her paycheck in bitcoin. Castor made the announcement Friday morning, during the second day of the Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit. Local crypto lending platform Celsius, a key sponsor of the summit, will facilitate the payments. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez recently became the first mayor to accept his salary in bitcoin and was then joined by New York’s newly-elected mayor, Eric Adams.
