City officials donate 290 bikes to nonprofits

May 9, 2023 - The St. Petersburg City Council recently approved giving 290 bicycles leftover from a previous bike share program to the St. Petersburg Bike Cooperative and Free Bikes 4 Kidz. The city has received 300 new e-bikes from Lime as part of a modernized program. A city document states the two nonprofits will convert the pedal bicycles for personal use and have the capacity to store and distribute them to people in need.
