Close to 14,000 Pinellas County School students opt to return to in-person learning
October 12, 2020 -
In late September, Pinellas County Schools asked families interested in switching their child's learning delivery method to request their change by Oct. 6. On Monday, district officials announced that close to 14,000 students asked to return to in-person learning for the second quarter, with roughly 1,000 students indicating they wanted to move to remote learning. When the requested changes go into effect, the in-person population will increase from 60 percent to 70 percent of the district's total enrollment. Schools are currently coordinating schedules, and anyone who did not submit a request to change their enrollment by Oct. 6 will be put on a list for future consideration.
