Cold night shelters open countywide

January 26, 2026 - The Homeless Leadership Alliance will open cold night shelters Monday night throughout Pinellas County, as the National Weather Service expects the "feels like" temperature to hit 40 degrees or below between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority will provide free bus rides to and from shelters, which provide a warm, safe place to sleep and often a meal, if boarding riders instruct the driver.  St. Petersburg facilities include the Unitarian Universalist Church at 100 Mirror Lake Dr. N., the Salvation Army at 1400 4th St. S., the Allendale Church at 3803 Haines Rd. N. and the Northwest Church at 6330 54th Ave. N., which allows leashed or contained pets.
