Congresswoman Castor secures $6.6 million for PSTA
November 21, 2025 - U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor has secured $6.58 million for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority's (PSTA) "Facility Emergency Power Resiliency Project." The U.S. Department of Transportation grant funding will support the replacement of a diesel-powered generator to maintain charging power for electric buses and operations during widespread power outages. Castor also helped the Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART) receive $32.04 million to acquire 33 compressed natural gas buses to replace outdated diesel vehicles.
