Covid death toll tops 900 in Pinellas County

November 30, 2020 - The Florida Department of Health reported three additional deaths due to Covid-19 in Pinellas County on Monday. The health department also reported 250 new cases of the virus in the county. Pinellas now has a cumulative total of 33,058 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 902 deaths since the outbreak began in March. The positivity rate, or percent of people who test positive for Covid after taking a test, was 8.41 percent on Sunday, the health department said. It's averaged 5.65 percent over the past two weeks. As of Monday afternoon, 200 people are hospitalized in Pinellas County with a primary diagnosis of Covid-19, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration said. About 29.6 percent of the hospital beds in Pinellas remain available, as do 15.8 percent of the adult intensive care unit beds.
