Duke Energy gives the Woodson Museum $325,000

February 2, 2022 - On the very day (Feb. 1) the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum announced a fundraising campaign, "Invest in Black History," Duke Energy Florida contributed $325,000 towards the $27 million needed to construct a new facility in the Deuces area of St. Petersburg. “The Woodson is more than just a museum for many people in the community," said museum director Terri Lipsey Scott, "and Duke Energy’s support will allow us to continue to fulfill that mission and further our efforts and discussions on history, culture, race, equity and empowerment in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.”
