Duke receives approval to lower bills in 2026

November 5, 2025 - Duke Energy Florida customers will see already high bills increase by $7.54 for every 1,000 kWh of electricity used in January and February. However, typical residential customers can anticipate an approximately $44 decrease in March 2026 when the St. Petersburg-based utility removes storm recovery charges implemented after the 2024 hurricane season. The Florida Public Service Commission approved the changes Tuesday.
