Dunedin event to honor local suffragist Elizabeth Skinner

Community members and civic organizations will gather at Edgewater Park in Dunedin June 5 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the life and legacy of local suffragist Elizabeth Skinner. The event will include a discussion on the history of women’s voting rights and recognize Skinner’s role in organizing support for suffrage in Florida before the ratification of the 19th Amendment. Organizers say the public gathering is intended to honor local history while encouraging civic engagement and voter participation.
