Educator Richie Floyd seeking seat on city council
January 15, 2021 - Richie Floyd, a 29-year-old teacher and political organizer, has filed to run for the District 8 seat on the St. Petersburg city council which is currently held by Amy Foster. Floyd's goal is to build a campaign around working class priorities that gets everyday citizens involved politically around issues that will improve their lives. The primary election will be held August 24 with the general election November 2.
