FDOT to lower speeds on Howard Frankland, I-275

December 3, 2025 - Starting next week, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will lower the speed limit in construction zones on the Howard Frankland Bridge between Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties and I-275, from 38th Avenue North to 4th Street North, in St. Petersburg. The new speed limit will be 55 mph in both areas. FDOT said the speed reduction will help ensure "a consistent and clear speed for all drivers along the I-275 corridor."
