Football player faces vehicular homicide charges after Largo crash

August 29, 2025 - The Largo Police Department has arrested and charged University of Miami football player Adarius Hayes with three counts of vehicular homicide and one count of reckless driving with serious bodily injury following a crash in May that killed three people, including two children. Detectives found that Hayes repeatedly crossed three lanes of traffic on Ridge Road without signalling and accelerated to 79 mph in a 40 mph zone before colliding with Gail Price, 78. Two children, aged 10 and 4, were ejected and died at the scene. Price died the following day in the hospital.
