FWC proposes new Skyway fishing regulations
February 20, 2023 - Over 3,300 pelicans became tangled in fishing gear at the Skyway Fishing Pier between 2021 and 2022, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is proposing new rules to reduce that number. Those include a ban on lines with multiple hooks, a two-rod limit and an annual education requirement. FWC officials will discuss the proposals at a meeting Tuesday.
