HCI’s TypTap Insurance plans nationwide expansion
August 6, 2020 - TypTap Insurance Co., a technology enabled insurance company, plans to expand nationwide. TypTap, part of Tampa-based HCI Group (NYSE: HCI), provides homeowners and flood insurance. It has asked Florida regulators to approve the expansion plans and also will seek approvals from regulators in other states, a news release said. TypTap, founded in 2016, has a proprietary, online platform to quote and bind policies quickly and efficiently, using artificial intelligence technology. Total premiums in-force for the company recently surpassed $75 million.
