Hillsborough County imposes curfew in response to Covid-19

April 13, 2020 - A nightly curfew is in effect in Hillsborough County in response to Covid-19 coronavirus. The county's Emergency Policy Group voted to implement the curfew in response to reports that some people are disregarding state and county stay at home orders. The curfew is from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Going to the grocery store or pharmacy or another essential activity is still allowed during curfew hours. Otherwise, residents must stay off the streets. Social gatherings are not considered essential, the county said in a news release. The Emergency Policy Group also is considering an order, mandating residents wear face coverings while in public where they will interact with other people. The group will review that proposal at its next meeting on April 16.
