Hillsborough County man convicted in nightclub shooting

March 16, 2021 - Jonathan Reid of Gibsonton has been found guilty of federal firearms offenses in connection with a shooting at a Fort Myers nightclub in January 2020. A jury convicted Reid, 31, of possessing a firearm and ammunition as a previously convicted felon. According to a news release, Reid shot two men who were standing outside the nightclub in the early morning hours of Jan. 29, 2020. He then fled the scene in a vehicle but crashed and abandoned the vehicle. Reid faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison but could also be sentenced to life in prison. His sentencing is set for June 14.
