December 16, 2025 - Personal finance platform WalletHub analyzed the prices of five key healthcare components in 100 of the largest U.S. cities, added those costs together and compared the total with median household incomes to determine where people spend the highest percentage of their monthly earnings on staying healthy. St. Petersburg ranked No. 53 at 6.35%, which narrowly places the city ahead of No. 50 Tampa (6.51%). Detroit residents spend the most of their median monthly income on health care, at 13.17%.
