Jabil opens healthcare manufacturing site in Dominican Republic

April 27, 2021 - Jabil will produce a variety of precision medical products at its newly opened manufacturing site in the Dominican Republic. The new facility is in Bajos de Haina’s PIISA Industrial Park, part of the area’s fast-growing free trade zone. It has more than 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 36,000 square feet of clean/dry room space. There are more than 400 manufacturing employees now, and that's expected to grow to 250 by the summer, Jabil said in a news release. The operation supports the regulated industries division at Jabil (NYSE: JBL), a manufacturing services company headquartered in St. Petersburg. Among the products that will be produced at the new plant are Covid-19 test kits.
