Kriseman attributes downward trend in Covid numbers to mask wearing, social distancing

July 21, 2020 - Speaking at his weekly Facebook Live Tuesday afternoon, St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman said he was "encouraged" by what he's seeing with the number of new cases of Covid-19. The average number of positive tests over the last seven days is 8.7 percent with the two-week average also trending downward. However, he said the number of positive cases needs to get below five percent. If that doesn't happen, Kriseman said he would consider additional measures to bring the numbers back down, though he didn't outline any specifics.
