Lakewood High could have a World Series champion
October 30, 2025 - Bo Bichette, who previously starred for the Lakewood High School Spartans, and the Toronto Blue Jays are now one win away from becoming World Series champs after a 6-1 win Wednesday night over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bichette was home-schooled but played for Lakewood from 2013 through 2016, when he batted .569 with 13 home runs and was named Florida's "Mr. Baseball." The Blue Jays have a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series and can clinch their first title since 1993 at home Friday.
