Money still available for local businesses through Fighting Chance Fund

July 24, 2020 - The City of St. Petersburg’s Fighting Chance Fund, an emergency grant for small businesses in St Pete that have been impacted by Covid-19, has provided $1.25 million to more than 400 local businesses during its third round of funding. The program still has about $1.5 million left to give away, according to Jessica Eilerman, manager of the St. Petersburg Greenhouse, and there are 110 applications currently under review. Eilerman said she expects that those applications will be processed in the next week or two, and then decisions will need to be made about what to do if funding isn't exhausted when round three ends. To date, Fighting Chance has distributed just over $5.5 million to brick-and-mortar and home-based businesses.
