More flights canceled at Tampa International
December 27, 2022 - Local holiday travelers continue feeling the impacts of widespread flight cancellations. As of noon Tuesday, data from FlightAware showed 129 cancellations at Tampa International Airport (TPA) over the previous 24 hours. Southwest Airlines offered many of the flights, and Spectrum News 9 reported over 1,000 pieces of luggage were clogging its baggage claim area at TPA Tuesday morning. While Southwest officials blamed winter storms for the disruptions - which will continue into Wednesday and Thursday - the Department of Transportation said it would examine the “unacceptable” problem and lack of adequate customer service.
