Optometrist launches bid for city council seat
March 12, 2021 - Dane Kuplicki, an optometrist at VIP Eye Care & Optical Boutique in St. Petersburg, plans to run for the District 8 seat on St. Petersburg City Council. Kuplicki, 34, was born and raised in Seminole. He graduated from Seminole High School and went to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and pre-optometry. District 8, on the west side of the city, is bordered by 38th Avenue North, Tyrone Boulevard and I-275. Current District 8 Council Member Amy Foster is term limited and cannot run for re-election to the seat.
