Pinellas commission postpones vote on sports complex proposed for Tyrone area
April 13, 2021 - The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners has postponed a scheduled hearing on a sports tourism and housing complex planned for the Tyrone area in St. Petersburg. The developer, Porter Development, asked for the continuance to address concerns heard at a Forward Pinellas meeting, according to Derek Kilborn, manager of St. Petersburg's urban planning and historic preservation division. Forward Pinellas last month voted against recommending approval of the complex. Porter Development also is conducting an economic impact study, Kilborn said. Pinellas commissioners set June 8 as the new date for the hearing.
