Pinellas County school superintendent recommends delaying school until Aug. 24

July 22, 2020 - Pinellas County school superintendent Mike Grego has proposed moving the first day of school to Aug. 24. The original plan called for school to start Aug. 12. The Pinellas County School Board will consider Grego's recommendation at its next meeting July 28. If approved, the last day of school would move from May 27 to June 9, 2021. The delay would impact all three proposed learning options – traditional in-person, MyPCS Online and Pinellas Virtual School.
