Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office receives contract to promote pedestrian, bike safety

December 29, 2020 - The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has received a contract from the Florida Department of Transportation for a high visibility enforcement pedestrian and bicycle safety project. The project, which runs through May 14, 2021, is aimed at improving pedestrian and bicycle safety and reducing crashes and fatalities. Law enforcement deputies will be focusing on 25 locations which have been identified as high-crash areas and will be distributing educational materials and issuing warning and citations to pedestrians, bikers and motorists who are violating Florida statutes.
