‘Pink buildings’ developer plans street festival Sunday

March 20, 2026 - Valor Real Estate Development, the company behind February's pink-painted downtown buildings, is holding an event Sunday at 344 4th Street S. Twenty (unnamed) local artists will paint as part of a "competition" to see which will be hired to create a mural inside the Roche Bobois apartment tower, which will debut at the site in 2029. Sunday's event takes the form of a family-friendly street festival at the location of the soon-to-be-demolished pink buildings. The festival, from 11 a.m. until sunset, will feature food trucks, a skateboard showcase and "a kid-powered mural painted by children served by local nonprofit groups."
