Pro-Palestinian protests escalate at USF’s Tampa campus
May 1, 2024 - Police used tear gas to disburse protests over the Israel-Hamas war Tuesday evening at the University of South Florida’s Tampa campus and arrested at least 10 people. Nearly 100 protestors, some carrying wooden shields and umbrellas, gathered Tuesday in the university’s MLK Plaza. Law enforcement agencies ordered crowds to disburse by 5 p.m. and deployed tear gas for noncompliance.
