Seedfunders adds St. Pete College president, former J&J exec to Opportunity Fund board
July 13, 2020 - Two well-known local business leaders have joined the board overseeing the Seedfunders Opportunity Fund. Tonjua Williams, president of St. Petersburg College, and Bridgette Heller, former president of the Global Baby Unit at Johnson & Johnson and former executive vice president and president of Merck Consumer Care, will help oversee investments by Seedfunders Opportunity Fund, a committed capital fund that will be used for investments in Black-owned startups throughout the state of Florida. Williams will also act as a conduit to entrepreneurs at St. Petersburg College. SeedFunders — an early-stage investment firm based in St. Petersburg — has committed to making at least one Opportunity Fund investment in an SPC-student led company. Irv Cohen, Seedfunders co-founder, leads the Opportunity Fund investment management board, along with Seedfunders partnersGeoff Keith, Ruth Ross and George Lange.
