Shutdown could impact over 50 daily TPA flights
November 6, 2025 - The Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday that it is preparing to cut 10% of flights at the nation's busiest airports to ensure safe operations amid the ongoing government shutdown. CBS News subsequently published a proposed list that included Tampa International Airport (TPA). At Thursday's Hillsborough County Aviation Authority meeting, John Tiliacos, chief operating officer at TPA, said a 10% cut would impact roughly 50 to 60 daily flights at the airport.
