St. Pete insurer assumes 30,000 policies from Citizens
August 2, 2025 - State regulators approved St. Petersburg-based Patriot Select Property and Casualty Insurance to assume up to 30,000 homeowner's policies from Florida's "insurer of last resort." Patriot absorbed another 12,000 policies from Citizens Property Insurance in June. The local insurer launched in April and is accepting applications from new policyholders statewide.
