St. Pete postal clerk charged with ID theft

July 22, 2020 - A U.S. Postal Service clerk in St. Petersburg was indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, identity theft and theft of a postal key. The clerk, identified as Jasmine Wynne of Ruskin, photographed personal identifying information and bank account information from first-class mail and passport applications, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. Wynne then forwarded the photos to co-conspirators for use in a bank fraud scheme, the news release said. The news release said she worked at a U.S. Postal Service retail location in St. Petersburg, but did not specify the address.
