St. Pete restricts vehicle traffic around waterfront for Christmas

December 15, 2021 - In an effort to protect pedestrians around the holidays, the St. Petersburg Police Department is closing part of the downtown waterfront to vehicle traffic. On Saturday, Dec. 18, and Saturday, Dec. 25, Bayshore Drive NE will only be open to pedestrians and bicyclists. The car-free zone of Bayshore extends from Central Avenue to 5th Avenue NE. The temporary closure takes place from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. due to an increase in the volume of pedestrians visiting the Pier and surrounding parks for the holidays.
