St. Pete wastewater spills into Joe’s Creek

September 4, 2024 - The City of St. Petersburg notified residents Wednesday that multiple manholes discharged untreated wastewater due to heavy rains Tuesday night. Four manholes at 36th Avenue and 66th Way North discharged 2,000 gallons into storm drains that lead to Joe’s Creek. The issue is ongoing, and crews are working to stop the leak. Another 1,000 gallons leaked from two manholes at 22nd Avenue and 58th Street North. That discharge flowed into ditches and has stopped.
