St. Petersburg is one of top cities for people with disabilities

December 17, 2020 - St. Petersburg is the 15th best U.S. city to live for people with disabilities, according to an analysis by consumer finance website WalletHub. It's the ol Florida city in the Top Twenty. To determine the rankings, WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across three key dimensions: economy, quality of life and health care. Within these areas, 21 key metrics were identified as make-or-break for individuals with disabilities. Statistics like employment rate and median income for the community were major considerations in assessing the openness of the job market. Other factors included the number of physicians, the price tag on a doctor’s visit, availability of special education teachers, cost of living, housing affordability and the weather.
