St. Pete’s MLK Dream Big Weekend begins today

January 15, 2022 - The City of St. Petersburg is hosting several events to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend. The MLK Dream Big Weekend kicked off today with the MLK Music Festival and Family Fun Day - 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Albert Whitted Park. On Sunday, the MLK Community Gospel Choir Showcase takes place at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The MLK Band Showcase is Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Campbell Park Football Complex. Closing out the festivities is the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade, beginning at 11 a.m. Monday. The parade celebrating the late civil rights icon is the longest-running in America.
