State offers guidance for hair salons, barber shops planning to reopen

May 9, 2020 - The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has developed guidance and list of frequently asked questions for barbershops and cosmetology salons that want to reopen. Those businesses, along with many others, were closed statewide in early April to help slow the spread of Covid-19. Gov. Ron DeSantis said Friday they can reopen, effective Monday, May 11. The state guidance (click here) says all customers will be by appointment only, shops must allow at least 15 minutes between the end of one appointment and the beginning of the next one for proper disinfecting practice, and masks must be worn by all employees while performing personal services.
