Tampa Bay is among nation’s worst for middle-class workers
December 4, 2023 - The Ludwig Institute for Shared Economic Prosperity recently ranked the Tampa-St. Petersburg metro area among the nation’s worst for middle-class workers. Many of the study’s top-ranking cities, like San Jose and Austin, have seen wages increase alongside soaring living costs. Tampa Bay placed 40th out of 50 metro areas due to its $857 “true weekly earning” average. View the full report here.
