Tampa Bay residents have $610 million in unclaimed assets

November 28, 2023 - Jimmy Patronis, Florida's chief financial officer, has launched the "Holiday Money Hunt" to spread awareness about the state's $2.9 billion in unclaimed money and property. Tampa and St. Petersburg residents can claim $610 million in uncashed checks, life insurance benefits, stocks, bonds, safe deposit box contents and other "abandoned" assets.
