Tampa Bay Rowdies games on hold

March 12, 2020 - The United Soccer League said it will suspend the 2020 season for a minimum of 30 days. The Tampa Bay Rowdies, who play their home games at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg, are part of the USL. “It was very clear from our owners that the health and safety of players, fans and staff was their top priority,” Alec Papadakis, CEO of the USL, said in a statement. “In consultation with local, state and national health authorities, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Homeland Security, we have temporarily suspended match play for a minimum of 30 days.” The league said it would provide additional updates on the continuation of the 2020 season "when appropriate."
