Tampa Bay’s inflation rate leads the nation
February 15, 2023 - The latest U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area’s inflation rate far surpasses the national average, at 8.9% and 6.4%, respectively. Finance platform WalletHub also showed that Tampa Bay prices increased faster than any other metro area in the country. Local energy costs soared 14.8% over the past year, while food prices rose 8.5%.
