Tampa legal services support company lays off workers

June 22, 2020 - ProVest LLC has permanently laid off 86 workers at its Tampa office. The company, a legal support services firm, said the mass layoffs were due to the sudden, dramatic and unexpected circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic The layoffs occurred between March 25 and May 1, ProVest said in a May 29 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The WARN was posted online today. There were a wide range of positions impacted by the layoffs, including 21 skip trace investigators and 19 process clerks, according to the notice. ProVest was acquired by Nonantum Capital Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, in early 2019.
