Tampa venture capital firm invests $4M in Miami health tech startup

January 12, 2021 - Florida Funders has led a $4 million round of financing for HealthSnap, a Miami-based company that created a remote patient monitoring and analytics platform for virtual chronic disease management. According to a news release, the investment from Tampa-based Florida Funders brings HealthSnap’s total funding to $6.5 million, to date. HealthSnap is led by co-founders Samson Magid, Chase Preston and Dr. Wesley Smith, as well as Executive Vice President Brad Blakey, who boasts more than 30 years of experience at companies such as AthenaHealth, NextGen Healthcare and CareCloud. The company has deals in place with more than 10,000 physicians and several major health systems, the release states.
